Rodent Control in Florida
Florida Rodent Control That Keeps Rodents Out for Good
Scratching in the attic. Droppings under the sink. A chewed wire in the garage. If any of this sounds familiar, your home may already have a growing rodent population.
At Prodigy Pest Solutions, we are Florida rodent control experts with years of hands-on experience. We protect homes and families from rats and mice the right way.
That means finding the holes, sealing them shut, and clearing out what is already inside.
Traps and poison alone will not fix the problem. Real rodent pest control starts with exclusion.
Why Florida Has a Rodent Problem
Florida’s warm weather keeps roof rats, Norway rats, and house mice active all year long.
Tile roofs, wood soffits, thick landscaping, and open trash cans give rodents everything they need. Shelter, food, and a dozen ways to get inside.
Homes near wooded areas, canals, or golf courses see even more rodent pressure. So do older homes with original soffit vents or worn weather stripping.
Once one rodent gets in, the population grows fast. Calling a professional pest control company early can save thousands in damage.
Signs of a Rodent Infestation
Most homeowners hear rodents before they see them. The common signs of a rodent infestation include:
- Scratching or scurrying in the attic or walls at night
- Droppings under sinks, in the pantry, or in the garage
- Chewed wires, wood, or food packaging
- Greasy rub marks along baseboards or pipes
- A strong, musky smell in closed-off rooms
Rodents also carry real disease. The CDC links rodents to hantavirus, and this PBS Nature fact sheet shows how fast a small rodent population can explode into hundreds.
The sooner you act, the safer your home and families will be.
Our Florida Rodent Control Process
Our rodent pest control process usually takes about one week from start to finish.
Step 1: Full Home Inspection
We send a trained inspector to your home. They climb on the roof, walk the full perimeter, and go up into the attic.
They look for entry points, droppings, gnaw marks, and rub marks.
Step 2: Photos and a Clear Quote
Our inspector photographs every entry point and every sign of rodent activity.
You get a detailed quote by email with all the photos included. We walk through it with you so there are no surprises.
Step 3: Sealing the Entry Points
Once you approve the work, we seal every hole with materials rodents cannot chew through. Metal flashing, hardware cloth, concrete, and professional-grade sealants.
This is how we prevent rodents from coming back.
Step 4: Trapping and Rodent Removal
If there is an active infestation, we set traps inside the home to catch any rodents that were sealed in.
When heavy exterior pressure calls for it, we can also place tamper resistant bait stations around the outside of your home. These locked boxes keep rodent control products secured and away from kids and pets.
Step 5: Follow-Up Visits
A few days later, we come back to check the traps, handle any needed rodent removal, and replace traps. We keep coming back until your home is rodent-free.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the rodent control process take?
Most homes are finished in about a week, from the first inspection to the final trap check.
What kinds of rodents do you handle?
We handle roof rats, Norway rats, and house mice. These are the three most common rodents in Florida homes. The same inspection and exclusion approach works for all of them.
Do you use poison?
We focus on exclusion and trapping. When needed, we may also use tamper resistant bait stations on the exterior so any rodent control products stay locked and safe.
Will rodents come back after you seal my home?
Once sealed correctly, rodents cannot get back in. That is the whole point of exclusion, and it is what separates real rodent pest control from a quick spray-and-go visit.
Is this safe for my family and pets?
Yes. Every step is built to protect your home and families, not just kill pests.
